Hola, and welcome to our blog. My name is Matt, and this is my wife Mary Claire (MC). We just bought our first house in the great state of Virginia, and wanted to document all the little (and sometimes large) things that happen to us and our home.
I started this blog about three years ago, and it has taken on many different forms, but the longest running iteration was that of a daily photo blog. Once I ran out of things to photograph and talk about, I decided I needed an overhaul, and it just happen to coincide with the purchase of our house, so why not begin blogging about that. While MC doesn’t write much on the blog, she contributes greatly in photos, ideas, reminders and helping me put my scattered thoughts into words.
We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, or try to be like the millions of other DIY bloggers out there (whom we love), this blog is designed for fun, and to keep our families informed as to what we’re doing in this crazy little house. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind doing this everyday for a living, but we both have day jobs, so our projects aren’t grand in scale, and posts won’t happen daily (although I’ll try).
I’ve always enjoyed blogging, and it has moved itself into my professional world as well, so this helps me keep up to date. Besides, if you are like me, you like reading many different blogs and seeing what other people are out there doing. We hope you enjoy the site and our adventures.
